the Books Golden Boy is based on the life experience of 12 year old Habo living as an albino in Africa. Habo has been physically, mentally and emotionally abused his whole life. from his brother beating him for there father leaving , his mother neglect towards him because of the troubles he has caused or the kids and adults on the streets making fun of him because he looks different. Golden Boy follows Habo to Mwanza after his family cant afford their farm anymore where he learns that Mwanza is a place where they kill albinos because your hair, skin and limbs are considered "lucky." When Habo hears this he is scared and he hides for a month in his aunts cupboards and is only let put for a couples hours a day and is not aloud to go outside the house. when Habo little cousin runs outside Habo chases after him and comes face to face with a man names Alistair that had helped them on their journey to Mwanza, only this time Alistair doesn't want to help him, he wants to kill him. if you read this book you'll experience the emotional impact that being an albino in Africa has on someone and how they are treated like their no body. you'll also experience the bonding of two strangers and how two people can find strengths from another when they think their at rock bottom.
